{"id":2472,"date":"2023-04-01T18:09:50","date_gmt":"2023-04-01T17:09:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eszter-maura.eu\/?p=2472"},"modified":"2023-04-01T18:09:50","modified_gmt":"2023-04-01T17:09:50","slug":"","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eszter-maura.eu\/nl\/greetings-from-cadiz\/","title":{"rendered":"","raw":""},"content":{"rendered":"","protected":false,"raw":""},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false,"raw":""},"author":1,"featured_media":2473,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_en_post_content":"<p id=\"isPasted\">I wish I could have told you all that happened while on the road, but my voice faded and I never found the right words to share with you.<\/p>\r\nI did write down and photograph and record all of it, yet the memories feel cold and grey and distant, and I can only hope to have, with time, enough warmth to bring some of them back to life.\r\n\r\nI wish I could have told you all that happened while on the road, but travel\u2019s hardly glorious or glam, most of the time, even as many cities and even more landscapes are.\r\n\r\nI wish I could have told you all that\u2019s happened while on the road, or since, but I convinced myself the no-one would ever want to hear about grief,\r\n\r\nor the logistics of getting from Budapest to Bruxelles to M\u00e1laga to C\u00e1diz within less than a week from having talked myself out of the hospital, with a luggage I couldn\u2019t lift as I struggled to breathe through the worst asthma crisis of my life and had to quite literally crawl up to my third-floor \u00a0flat on all fours at least once.\r\n\r\nOr the fact that seasonal depression, at least in my case, is as likely to be a vitamin D and\/or iron deficiency as anything else.\r\n\r\nI wish I could have told you all that happened while on the road \u2013\u00a0or since.\r\n\r\nYet here I am, living in \u00a0port city once more, and the parallel lines of my life are finally meeting again.\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\nIf you liked this article, please consider making a (one-time or regular) donation on Ko-fi.
